Call for Applications – Academic Year 2026/2027

The Academic Registrar, Ankole Western University, invites applications for admission into various academic programmes for the August/September Intake, Academic Year 2026/2027.

Application Requirements

Applicants are required to attach the following:

  • Copies of academic documents starting with O-Level (UCE) and A-Level (UACE) results or certificates, followed by any other relevant qualifications.
  • A valid identification document (National ID, former school ID, or driving permit).
  • International applicants must submit equated academic documents from the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) and the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
  • A copy of a National ID or Migration Certificate (for international applicants).

How to Apply Online

  1. Visit the application portal:
    https://admissions.awu.ac.ug
  2. “Register“ if you do not have an account yet.
  3.  Login here if you already have an account.
  4. Fill in the registration form with accurate details:
    • Surname Name (as per official documents)
    • First Name (surname/family name)
    • country of registration
    • Phone Number (include country code, e.g., 256…)
    • Select a Security Question
    • Answer the Security Question
    • Create a strong Password (strong combination of letters, numbers & symbols)
    • Confirm Password
  5. Click “Register” to complete registration, then log in using your credentials.
  6. Select your preferred scheme:
    • Undergraduate Schemes – Bachelor’s Degree & Diploma programmes
    • Graduate Schemes – Postgraduate and Master’s programmes
  7. Explore available programmes by clicking “View Programmes” under each scheme.
  8. Click “Apply Now” on your desired programme.
  9. Select your entry qualification:
    • UCE/UACE –  If you completed the UCE and UACE
    • Higher Education Certificate – If you hold a certificate from a recognized institution
    • Relevant Diploma – If you’ve completed a diploma program related to your chosen course
    • Mature Entry Examinations – If you’re applying through the mature age entry route
