Welcome to Ankole Western University

The genesis of this University can be traced as far back as the 1980's when the first Bishop of West Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Yoramu K. Bamunoba together with other stakeholders of the area like the Late Wilson Kansiime Ruhanga started seven secondary schools in anticipation that they would serve as a good foundation for Tertiary Institutions and later a university.
