Today, Ankole Western University proudly held its inaugural volleyball tournament, sponsored by Vice Chancellor Dr. Andrew Ainomugisha. This exciting competition brought together various student clubs and associations from across the university.
A total of 12 teams participated, including the Rotaract Club, Leos Club, Sheema Students Association, Kaso Students Association, Toro Students Association, and the Kitagata Alumni Students Association, among others. In a thrilling final match, the Toro Students Association clinched victory against the Rotaract Club.
Dr Ainomugisha expressed his appreciation to all the students for their enthusiastic participation and reassured them of his commitment to nurturing their talents. During the event, he also announced the launch of the Ankole Western University Ambassadors Team for 2025. This group will be pivotal in encouraging their peers and parents in their communities to consider Ankole Western University as their top choice.
Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor outlined his plans to support student talents at the university and his dedication to completing the science block, which will bring a modern look to the campus. He also shared updates on the ongoing road tarmacking project, which will enhance accessibility to the university from the eastern side and contribute to a more contemporary campus atmosphere.
Dr. Andrew Ainomugisha was joined by Mr. Robert Muhanguzi, the Academic Registrar; Dr. Bernard Nuwatuhaire, the Director of Postgraduate Studies and Research; Mr. Kwikiriza Asaph, the university Bursar; and other University staff.
