Today, Dr. Andrew Ainomugisha, the Vice Chancellor of Ankole Western University, hosted a team from Roke Telkom, led by Mr. Mugenyi Timothy, the head of Partnerships and Community Impact in Kampala, Uganda. Roke Telkom has been supplying internet services to AWU since 2016 and has also been sponsoring students in the Faculty of Computing and Informatics through the RWE Foundation, initiated by the Board Chairman, Mr. Kenneth Murangira. Their support has been consistent, ensuring that AWU remains connected to fast internet 24/7, ever since the tenure of Rev. Canon Dr. Mary Edidah Mujinya as the Vice Chancellor of Ankole Western University. According to Timothy, the company will offer internship placements to students in the computing faculty and will continue supporting AWU in other areas such as capacity building in technology.
